Occasionally students require a higher level of intervention from the school community than that which is provided daily through the school pastoral care system. To ensure students who need support are identified, a school care team meets frequently.
The team concerns itself primarily with the care and welfare of students in a non-judgmental way and strives to develop a range of supports that cater for the learning, social, emotional and behavioural needs of students. During care team meetings information regarding specific students is shared in a confidential setting and a coordinated response to the care needs of these students is decided upon.
Student issues are continually reviewed and monitored at future meetings until it is decided that the day to day school pastoral care system will fully account for their needs and no further action is deemed necessary.
